This one's for you Alton Brown

You will always find Alton Brown's Green Bean Casserole at every holiday meal that I prepare. 


The one difference is I fry (not bake) the shallots in peanut oil and make a TON extra because those delicious fried onions are a big reason why I love this dish so much. I also buy all sorts of awesome mushrooms - shiitakes, portabella, baby bella, porcini and chanterelle - to really make the creamy mushroom sauce shine. 

Always prepared and served in my best cast iron skillet - the only dish I go back for seconds.

Wouldn't it be amazing if Alton was a judge on my Chopped episode??

  1. I saw Alton Brown speak at a food expo a few years ago. He's so great! I love your take on this with frying it in peanut oil. I always keep peanut oil on hand!
