Making Pizza In Italy!

We visited Italy in the summer of 2018.

We had a lovely excursion during our first day in Florence and visited a farmhouse where we toured the garden, made sorbet and pizza.

Luca, our host chef, was hilarious and talked about how much he wanted to be on the Food Network. We used Leivital Fresh Yeast  yeast and very fine flour to create the distinctive thin crust Italian pizza.

Once we made the dough, we topped our own personal pizzas with our preferred toppings and they only needed a minute in the super hot brick oven.

Check out our 1 minute video, tossing pizza dough like Italians!

We also made sorbet and here are a few fun photos of using liquid nitrogen to instantly freeze it.

My trip tp Italy certainly prepared me for conquering at least 1 round of Chopped!

  1. Liquid nitrogen is so cool! I want to experiment with ice cream and sorbet at home after seeing this.
